All about the appeal......

The New Children’s Hospital Appeal was launched in May 2006, and aims to raise £20 million to help fund projects within the new hospital. The appeal will focus on two main areas:

Ensuring that the new state-of-the-art buildings have the very best equipment available for diagnosis and treatment

Providing accommodation so the parents can stay close to their child during treatment

Manchester’s existing children’s hospitals currently receive over 150,000 patient visits a year from children all over the North West and beyond. When the new hospital opens, the facility will be able to provide the highest standard of treatment within the best facility. The new hospital will have more beds, additional operating theatres. There will also be outdoor play spaces, a teenage ‘chill-out’ and meeting area, and sitting rooms for parents.

The new children’s hospital is part of The New Hospitals Development, a £400 million investment that will also provide new facilities for Manchester Royal Infirmary, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital for Women and Children.

With your support, the appeal will enhance the new children’s hospital by going the extra mile to ensure thousands of children and their families receive the very best in healthcare with the biggest and best children’s hospital in the UK.
